Redesigning work & the organization                   

Traditionally, organizations try to achieve change either through rearranging the organization boxes or replacing members in the boxes.

Taylor-Nelson helps organizations to use new tools to restructure the actual work, work processes, the job itself, the work system, the strategy, the culture and the work environment.

We emphasize the practical value and importance of process improvement methods as well as an expanded context for change...a total people and work systems view. Often this results in the more appropriate allocation of human resources and the revitalization of their work units.

This approach involves aligning organization structure and management style, reliable work methods and processes, employee skills and teamwork, technology and organization capacity to meet and surpass customer requirements.

We employ simulations and other tools developed to provide a rare opportunity for active involvement in the challenge of the quality analysis and redesign of a total work system

One of the key means of achieving full customer satisfaction is through continuous work process improvement; the reduction of errors, waste and cycle time.  Such gains are usually achieved through the efforts of teams of employees, in conjunction with customers and suppliers.  "Process" refers to the steps taken to transform inputs from a supplier into outputs for a customer.

[Image]Members who will be invited to assist in the change to the organization will be trained to perform the change themselves!  

[Image]They start by participating in a quality and work redesign workshop to learn the basics of work redesign.

[Image]Problem solving, decision making, systems design and flow process skills are added as the redesign team becomes ready.

[Image]Flow charting and other design skills are taught to the work team members.

In summary, team members will be going through training, doing the actual redesign themselves, and building their own team for ongoing redesign maintenance and performance measurement.
